Co-parenting calendar for Australia.

A calendar for Australian families needs room for school terms, changeovers and summer plans across December and January. Prepare the dates for your own state or territory and keep shared costs in Australian dollars.

School terms, summer plans and smoother changeovers.

Start with a normal school-week routine, then add the exceptions. A shared calendar should show who is caring for your child, when the next change happens and what each parent needs to bring. Keep dates, tasks and the conversation about a change close together.

Check your state or territory before planning a long weekend

Australian public holidays differ by state and territory. Labour Day and the King’s Birthday are examples where one national date would be misleading. Use the local holiday calendar and your school’s published term dates before changing the usual parenting rotation.

Father’s Day in Australia is in September rather than the June date used in the US. Duet’s Australian region uses the local convention. For the end-of-year break, include both December and January dates and mark when your normal school-term routine starts again.

Check Fair Work Ombudsman public holidays by state and territory and your school’s published calendar before finalising dates.

A summer school-holiday plan

Write the first and last nights of each holiday block, plus the changeover time and place. Add camps or care days as separate events. Before applying a week-about rotation, compare how the transition works when the school year resumes.

Keep shared costs clear in AUD

An AU$150 school-camp payment split equally is AU$75 each. AUD support is included in Duet 1.19. Costs and settlements retain their original currency; Duet does not convert Australian dollars into US or New Zealand dollars.

Duet 1.19 supports USD, CAD, GBP, EUR, AUD and NZD. It records shared costs, splits and payments made outside the app. It does not move money or automatically convert currencies. Learn how shared expenses and settlements fit alongside the family calendar.

Build a routine before the next school break

  1. Compare a 2-2-3 rotation with week-on, week-off in the free browser calculator.
  2. Add the school’s actual break dates and decide which holiday dates replace the normal rotation.
  3. Write a time and place for each collection or changeover, including who brings school bags and activity kit.
  4. Review the plan together before making bookings. The calculator is a planning preview, not an automatic import into Duet.
